  • Create and execute the two-fold national launch for both the
    Verizon / Samsung Droid Charge smartphone and Verizon / Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet
  • Educate consumers on Verizon’s new 4G LTE network now available on the world’s first smartphone and tablet

Tactics

  • Created separate themes and launch events for devices to highlight their own personalities: Droid Charge Kentucky Derby Viewing Party (“a celebration of speed and power”) and Galaxy Tab Launch Pad (“expand your world”)
  • Assembled a team of 25 Social Media VIP’s 1 month prior to launch to experience the devices and initiate massive social media activity.
  • Managed a mobile marketing program on-site with guests texting photos and favorite 
Kentucky Derby horse to be displayed on Samsung plasma screens throughout 
event footprint
  • Ran an online promotion on VerizonInsider.com that awarded the winner a
    “Fly-Away” trip to attend event with VIP credentials based on their 
contest submissions.
  • Invited celebs and key influencers to both private events 
to yield 129.7M impressions in 
national media
